Pettisville Missionary Church is a member of the Missionary Church Inc., an evangelical denomination committed to church planting and world missions.

The Missionary Church, in obedience to Jesus Christ her Lord, is committed to being holy people of God in the world and to building His church by worldwide evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication of growing churches, all to the glory of God.

PMC has joined this family of 1400 congregations in 23 countries (315 in the United States) in order to accomplish assignments from God as a team that we could not do alone.

We as a church body recognize...

  • The chief end of man is to worship the true and living God.

  • It is vital to reach lost people with the good news of salvation through a relationship with Christ.

  • True disciples must continually grow deeper in their relationships with the Lord.

  • As believers, we are intimately connected with one another and we must use our God-given gifts to minister to the body.

  • We are a member of Christ's larger body beyond PMC and our denomination. We must join in support and cooperation with other churches from our community and beyond to reach the world for Christ.

We as a local assembly are accountable for...

  • We have a representative - congregational form of government.

  • The Church Council made up of committee chairs elected by the congregation oversees church affairs.

  • The Board of Elders appointed according to Scriptural standards oversees the spiritual life of the church.

  • Reports of Council minutes and Treasury statements are posted publicly for inspection and comment and require annual approval by the congregation.

We believe in...

  • THE BIBLE... as the divinely inspired Word of God which is the unchanging authority in matters of faith and practice, true and reliable in all matters it addresses.

  • GOD... there is but one God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere present. He is the creator and sustainer of all people and things, visible and invisible, and is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • JESUS... as God's incarnate Son; who lived a sinless life during his time on earth before he died on a cross to make atonement for the sins of the human family. He was then resurrected bodily and ascended to the right hand of God. He is the only Savior and will soon return to take all true believers to live in heaven with Him.

  • THE HOLY SPIRIT... this third person of the Trinity is the one who convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment. It is he who indwells and teaches all believers and wants to sanctify and empower us for service.

  • SALVATION... since all men and women are born in sin, this makes them guilty before God and unable to save themselves and headed for eternity in hell. However, God in his infinite love provided his only Son, Jesus, to become our Savior. Salvation is the process where we genuinely repent of our sins and accept by faith God's promise of forgiveness.

  • THE CHURCH... as a visible organism that is part of the universal body of believers. As a local body we voluntarily join together for the public worship of God, the teaching from his Word, observance of Holy Communion and Baptism, the fellowship of the saints, and the exercise of prayer and evangelism.
